Moving or reinstalling

Your Showkeep library is stored on your device. Showkeep cannot see it or restore it from a server.

• Create a Showkeep backup from Settings before changing devices, reinstalling the app or making major edits.
• Use Restore backup to replace or merge a saved Showkeep backup.
• Use the CSV export when you want a spreadsheet-friendly copy of the collection.
• Keep exported files somewhere you control and can access from the replacement device.

Search or artwork is unavailable

Search, metadata and artwork require an internet connection. Check your connection and try again. Your local collection remains available and you can add a film manually during an outage.

If Showkeep reports that the online service is busy, wait for the suggested retry period before searching again. Fair-use limits apply uniformly to every installation and do not affect local browsing, editing, backups or Tonight.

Incorrect film information

Showkeep receives film information and artwork references from TMDB. Submit a source correction on TMDB so the improvement reaches Showkeep and other catalogue users. See Attribution for provider details.

Reporting a bug

Include the following when it is relevant:

• Your device model and iOS version.
• The Showkeep version shown in Settings.
• What you were trying to do and what happened instead.
• Steps that make the problem happen again.
• A screenshot with personal notes or purchase details hidden.

Do not attach a library backup unless Showkeep specifically asks for it and you are comfortable sharing the information inside.

For a privacy request, use the subject “Showkeep privacy”. For material hosted on the website, follow the details on the Copyright page. Both routes use hey@showkeep.app.
